The Seto Plant was designed by Tokyo office team of Gensler who is the world's largest architectural design firm.
The MARUWA Seto Plant design was selected as the winner of “Gensler Design Excellence Awards” (GDEAs) 2023 which is Gensler's in-house design competition among top projects worldwide of work category. It was also selected as “Best in show” award, which is given to the best project across categories. It was a double award consequently.

“Gensler Design Excellence Awards” (GDEAs) program, now in its 23rd year, was established by Gensler to foster and enhance the culture of design. Each year, projects submitted from Gensler offices worldwide are divided into four categories which are composed of wellness, lifestyle, work, and community and they will be critiqued rigorously by a panel of judges comprised of outside experts.
